I’ve never been into food science or a tech job by any stretch of the imagination, but that doesn’t negate the fact that food science tech jobs have enhanced my professional life and made my work much easier. They are worth their weight in gold for the value-add that food science tech jobs bring to the table.
The reason is that food science technology is in fact something that is critically important and rather understated. Food science is this complex systematic study of several disciplines all come together to make the food we consume safe and also understandable.
Food science is the collection of biology, chemical engineering and biochemistry all designed to work in concert to better understand the food process in its many forms. Earlier I said that I had no interest in food science but that wasn’t exactly true because I have been using food science since I was in cooking school but didn’t know it by this name. Ultimately, all that food scientists learn, trickles down into the practical and tangible profession of producing food. And that is what I love to do.
